Hair Trends A/W 2017
Natural Hair Textures
This past season, stylists sent more and more models down the runway sporting their natural hair textures. Pinterest searches for 'natural hair' are soaring with more people gravitating towards unfussy styles for summer. Bed head hair is very much in vogue! Benjamin Ryan encourages clients to follow suit.
Natural Born Curl
Curly haired models graced enough catwalks this fall to make ‘the curl’ a definite part of this season's hair trends. Fernanda Oliveira made a splash with her curly bob at both Proenza Schouler and Saint Laurent, where fringes were kept curly in true 70s style.
To achieve this look and for healthy looking hair we recommend using Kérastase Aura Botanica. A product made up of 98% natural origin, it ensures 72 hours of anti-frizz weightlessness.
This is the season for natural looking, untouched waves. The waves that made it into the fall/ winter 2017-2018 hairstyle trends were wild and flyaway or soft and smooth. All were lush and beautiful.
At Christian Dior, the hair was styled into soft waves that had been brushed out in a gorgeous cloudy effect that was totally natural. Marni models wore natural waves along with tight natural curls.
A wonderful season for women with naturally wavy hair… time to lay off those heat styling tools.
Whip out your straighteners, the shiny and sleek middle part is back.
Inspired by Versace, Topshop sent models down the runway with pin-straight lengthy locks. Sleek and chic. Thin and fine hair? Don't be afraid to up the ante with Racoon's new Link System extensions - no heat, no glue, no damage!
We love Cara Delevingne! Especially when she pairs a long, side-swept fringe with a shaggy pixie cut. Straddling the line between masculine and feminine (in the best possible way) it’s right on-trend for this season.
Yes, you should get bangs. If you've been rocking longish hair for months (or years) and are itching for a restyle take a leaf out of Dakota Johnson's book. Her eye-grazing wispy fringe will add a cool, 70s vibe to your overall look.
A Parting of the Waves
The 'middle wave' is set to be the most-requested hairstyle of the season. Roots and ends are smooth and straight, mid-lengths are given an effortless cool curl. Get the look by using a large curling tong set to medium heat.
The Lob Chop
The lob has been wildly popular for years… 2017's rendition comes more layered. We favour ‘invisible’ layers that add texture and lift but can't be seen - a fun, stylish way to take your lob to the next level.
